Our Process

Skate Sharpening

With dedication and care, you can trust us that your skates will be well taken care of

1. Blades are inspected to determine if they require sharpening.

2. Blades are sharpened with machine for 4 cycles for a total of 8 passes

3. Blades are again inspected for sharpness and to see if they require more sharpening

4. Blades are honed using a meticulous 3 step process: first they are honed delicately with a rough stone, abrasive pad or medium stone to get rid of any major burrs

5. Blades are honed with a fine stone to rid microburrs that may still cause difficulty in skating and blade perfection

(It’s important to get as many burrs out as possible as they can cause you to fall or have general difficulty when skating)

6. Blades are stroped with a leather strop

7. Blades are wiped clean of steel shavings with a microfiber cloth.

8. Skates are equipped with a loyalty card and returned to customer.
